Open Role: Business Development Officer(BDO)

BCA Leadership is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Officer (BDO) to drive the company’s pan-African expansion strategy through strategic business development and revenue generation initiatives. The BDO will be responsible for securing agreements with international and global companies for the provision of BCA services to their subsidiaries and branches in Africa and beyond, and securing agreements with African companies for the provision of BCA services.
The BDO reports directly to the CEO
BDO Responsibilities:
Lead Development:
-Leverage existing relationships and cultivate new relationships with Directors of global and African organisations to create favourable awareness of and interest in BCA services.
-Leverage existing relationships and cultivate new relationships with HR Managers to understand their human resource needs and tailor BCA’s offerings to address team leadership development.
-Scout and identify potential leads and opportunities for BCA services among global and African companies
Lead Conversion:
-Effectively convert leads developed into paying customers, driving market expansion
Proposal Management & Negotiations:
-Lead the development and submission of compelling proposals to multinational corporations, INGOs, and public sector organisations, showcasing BCA services and value propositions.
-Follow up on submitted proposals, engage in negotiations, and secure agreements to deliver BCA services to clients.
-Collaborate with the internal team to develop innovative solutions and offerings that address client challenges effectively.
-Negotiate terms and agreements with clients to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes for all parties involved.
RFP Response:
-Respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) for services provided by BCA, ensuring timely and comprehensive submissions that address client requirements effectively.
Advertising Partnerships:
-Identify and pursue revenue-generating advertising partnerships with external companies and organisations, aligning with BCA’s mission and values.
Media Engagement:
-Represent BCA in media interviews across TV, radio, and online channels across Africa, promoting the company’s brand and services.
Market Intelligence and Reporting:
-Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments relevant to leadership development in Africa.
-Provide regular reports and updates on to the CEO on business development activities, pipeline status, revenue generation efforts and key performance metrics
BDO Requirements:
-Proven track record of establishing positive relationships with Directors of global and/or African public, private, and non-profit sector organisations.
-Demonstrated success in executive-level business development and revenue generation.
-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills..
-Proactive and self-starting attitude, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive initiatives independently.
-Fluency in both French and English is advantageous.
-Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to understand new issues quickly and make informed judgments.
-Ability to inspire confidence, build trust, and influence stakeholders effectively.
-Demonstrated ability to thrive in dynamic environments, while effectively managing workload,
and collaborating with team members as needed.
-Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with a virtual team.
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
