Engage and Develop Others

My suggestion is to begin by looking at the engagement of your employees. Global statistics tell us that leaders have a lot of work to do in this area.

Engagement, simply stated, is how much someone cares about their work, their coworkers, and the organization.

Let me give you an idea if you want to improve engagement in your organization: Start with genuine connection. Have some one-on-one conversations. Find out about people’s hopes, their dreams, their aspirations. Ask them how to improve your organization. I think you’ll be surprised by what you might learn.

Many organizations are starving while sitting on a sandwich.
