Meet
Dr. Richard Shuster

Dr. Richard Shuster (SHOE‑STIR) is a clinical psychologist, TEDx speaker, and performance strategist
He helps leaders build high-output organizations without sacrificing their health or their people. He blends neuroscience, behavioral psychology, and leadership science to show executives how to create cultures where employees operate at peak performance sustainably.
He is the co‑founder of SCOUT, a behavioral‑health technology platform serving military personnel, first responders, Veterans, and their families. SCOUT strengthens resilience, reduces burnout, and improves long‑term performance across communities that operate under extreme pressure. Through Your Success Insights, Dr. Shuster develops predictive behavioral algorithms that improve performance, accelerate recovery, and enhance culture inside organizations and athletic teams.
Dr. Shuster’s authority in leadership performance is shaped by a defining personal event: a near‑fatal stroke brought on by chronic overwork five years ago. That experience is the foundation of his upcoming book, Stroke of Genius, which reveals how pushing too hard for too long nearly killed him — and how leaders can avoid the same fate by understanding the neuroscience of stress, cognitive overload, and sustainable high performance.
His clinical training at the Emory School of Medicine, the Cleveland Clinic, and inpatient forensic hospitals gives him rare expertise in trauma, neurological disorders, and decision‑making under pressure. Today, he uses that background to help leaders optimize cognitive endurance, leadership clarity, and organizational resilience.
Dr. Shuster is also the creator and host of The Daily Helping, a psychology and neuroscience podcast downloaded in more than 150 countries. His insights have been featured in NBC News, Men’s Health, Cosmopolitan, Inc., Yahoo Finance, and The Huffington Post.
Across all his work, Dr. Shuster equips leaders with the science and systems to build organizations that perform at the highest level — without burning out their teams or themselves.
